Blood Shortage Plan
Blood and blood products are a vital part of patient health care across Canada. The National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products has developed frameworks for managing supplies of blood components and plasma protein and related products (PPRPs) in times of shortage. A Saskatchewan Blood Contingency Plan has been developed and will help Saskatchewan hospitals manage shortages of labile blood components.
