SCIG

SCIG is a purified immunoglobulin that is injected into the subcutaneous (fatty) area under your skin. It is made from human plasma. SCIG contains antibodies (immunoglobulins) which are found in the blood to help fight bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

It is used with people who have primary immune deficiency (PID) or secondary immune deficiency (usually due to certain cancers). Immune deficiency is a condition in which a person’s natural defense system or immune system does not function properly and is unable to make enough antibodies, leaving them more vulnerable to infections. SCIG replaces these antibodies, making people with immune deficiency less likely to develop an infection.
